About Mykonos

Also known as ‘the island of the winds’, Mykonos is one of the most famous tourist destinations in the world. It is especially renowned for its cosmopolitan nature and its glamorous and vivid nightlife. Mykonos is located in the middle of the Aegean Sea, south of the island of Tinos and north of the islands of Paros and Naxos.
Being one of the most representative islands of the Cyclades island group, Mykonos’ architecture, climate and terrain fits with Cycladic style in every aspect: The buildings that decorate Mykonos with their bright white walls and colorful features, make every part of the island incredibly picturesque.
However Mykonos is not only famous for its scenic downtown and its great party life, but also for its unparalleled beaches: Usally they are characterized by their stunning golden sand and their incredibly clear turquoise waters. However there is a large variation in style and environment , since the island has tens of easily accessible beaches for visitors to choose from.

The vibrant nightlife of the island is formed by the numerous and unique bars and clubs that animate Mykonos streets at night. Some of these bars are considered among the best in the world with many celebrity appearances throughout the whole summer.
Along with these nightclubs there are many beach bars that give the chance to avid partygoers to never stop having fun.
Apart from the entertainment industry of the island, there are many other attractions that may interest visitors. These include a plethora of museums, archeological sites and boat tours to the nearby islands of Delos and Rhenea.
Additionally the famous windmills in Chora (Mykonos Town) offer the most popular spot for watching the sunset, while Little Venice a few meters further, offers a wide variety of beautiful bars and cafes that are built right on the waves. Finally it is important to say that Mykonos is also one of the most Gay-friendly islands and one of the best LGBT tourism destinations in Europe, with many gay bars, clubs and beaches.
